Race entry.

Race entry opened on 6th February and will close on 25th February or when 4000 entries have been received, whichever comes first, but this will more than likely be before 9th!

The Course will be changed this year, because of planned redevelopment at Blaydon Shopping Centre, the Finish will now be on the playing fields at Shibdon Road, and the Derwenthaugh Marina section will be reduced in distance so that the total race distance will still be around 5.9 miles.

Use the ‘Entry’ button for details - however, despite spreading online entry facilities over the whole day, all online entries were filled within 2 or 3 minutes of each batch opening. Online entries are now closed, but check the entries page to see if postal entries are still available.

Race Charity

This year we've chosen The Newcastle Children's Hospital Charity as our official race charity.

They are a voluntary charity with the aim of caring for children in Newcastle Hospitals and the community. All the money raised is used to benefit the children as all of the fundraising is performed by unpaid volunteers.

Beer

We are delighted to announce that every Finisher will receive a special bottle of proper beer, brewed by Wylam Brewery in Heddon-on-the-Wall, the home village of the Blaydon Race founder, Jim Dewar.
